I have a new scarf - and the dino pumpkin invasion

What a wonderful day I've been having. I had a day off from working at the shop so plenty of time to get some 'real' work done.
I've had the most lovely message from Vigdis and Ansje - we went to the same art school in Ghent and we were (and are) best friends, they are the bees knees! I love Facebook for that!

I've made a new illustration in Illustrator this afternoon.
It's called 'I have a new Scarf'.

I have a new Scarf - by digibudi

And I've got a pumpkin, but my googly-eyed dinosaurs were not quite happy with this new life form..

'Oh no, what's that big orange thing doing here?'

'I'll bite it! Just you watch me.. big orange thing!'

'Get out of this place, it is ours! You don't belong here I tell you!'

Then there was this big fight which I didn't want to photograph.. It wasn't a nice sight.

Oh well, that's what you get when you put googly eyes on dinosaurs.. My mistake.

The tablecloth for my birthday party is almost finished.. still got lots of work to do. The invitations are due to be finished on Thursday..

A small part of my tablecloth for my birthday party!

Now it's back to the sketchbook for some tiny sketches of creatures with curls. Hmmm, I wonder how they will turn out..

Bye now!

And remember : 'Don't fight the pumpkin, be nice'

Catching up sketching

I've got some catching up to do.. So here are some drawings I've made in my moleskine sketchbook.

I love my moleskine, for anyone who hasn't yet got one; it's ever so wonderful to sketch in it. I mean, Picasso had one, Van Gogh had one..

I call this drawing 'Blue Penney', she's a kind of spirit of water and air.

This weird one is a test in nose/lips lines I've been working on lately.

Here's a little drawing of a girl with an attitude!

Ok, now it's back to the drawing board to make some sketches for an Adobe Illustrator drawing I want to make real soon..

Bye blue pens!

And remember: Sometimes all you need is a blue pen and some paper.

Up we go!

Something up above was calling him imperiously, and he made for the steep little tunnel which answered in his case to the gaveled carriage-drive owned by animals whose residences are nearer to the sun and air.

So he scraped and scratched and scrabbled and scrooged and then he scrooged again and scrabbled and scratched and scraped, working busily with his little paws and muttering to himself, 'Up we go! Up we go!' till at last, pop! his snout came out into the sunlight, and he found himself rolling in the warm grass of a great meadow

The Wind in the Willows - Kenneth Grahame

And here I am, back from a three week inner-search for new ideas and re-loading my creative batteries. I've been working a lot at the shop, I've read books, I've watched at least a hundred movies and I've been knitting..
I so needed those weeks to rest and to take some distance from my computer - it has cobwebs on it now.
So after this break, I'm happy to say, 'Up we go!'

Cathy Weber from Indianapolis send me this wonderful box full of goodies! I've got ribbons, plastic canvas (yeah, Diane!), mini cross-stitch kit, pink felt-like fabric, Chinese fabric, flower fabric and lots of lace.. Thank you Cathy! My box to you.., is delayed (as a few other gifts) but not forgotten.. Just watch your mailbox in a week or so..

Kathy's box, full of lovely bits and pieces.. (thank you Cathy!)

So what am I knitting?

It's a scarf for my nephew, with red and grey 100% Merino wool.

I'm off to the fabric store with my dear mother, buying some new felt for new dolls - I'm totally out of stock - and some coffee with cookies!

And remember: It's good to have friends.
